I bought both the Elago and the Shield to try both, based on reviews I had read. The Shield is better. Both are very similar in design, but the Shield includes just a little bit more protection around the sides, has a better tactile feel, and is much better quality. The Elago is a good concept, in that it's virtually unnoticeable for people who want that. The only issue is that it's poorly made and overpriced. Not only did mine come with a production defect (a bubble), but one side had the mold line smoothed down and the other side didn't! Plus, I've heard several stories of the cases cracking altogether. Go for the Shield. Better all around for virtually the same exact design.

This slim elago case is the only one I've found that allows you to clip on the Pogo stick if you use your iPhone this way. My wife, having long nails, uses the Pogo stick and the clip that holds it snaps on to the Elago case perfectly. It's the only such case I've found to date. Without this case, and the Pogo stick especially, my wife would not be using the iPhone 3G.
